ArmInfo. Azerbaijan is only looking forward to launching large-scale military actions against Armenia, political scientist Andrias Ghukasyan told ArmInfo as he commented on the February 13 clash near Nerqin Hand.
Azerbaijan not only does not deny the fact of aggression, but also cynically stated that they carried out a retaliation operation in response to a "provocation" by the Armenian military. At the same time, they added that as a result of these actions, the Armenian combat post was destroyed. It is noteworthy that all this is happening in the territories of Armenia, which were previously captured by the enemy side against the background of the international community's tacit encouragement of Azerbaijani aggression.
As the political scientist noted, it is obvious that Azerbaijan is preparing for a new attack on Armenia; it does not need a peace treaty. According to the expert, this kind of provocation will continue in the future. This year there will be elections in Europe and the United States, and all the attention of the world community will be focused on them. Azerbaijan will try to use this moment for its own purposes to launch a full-scale war. "Even if Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan changes his last name to Pasha-oglu, this will not change the situation," Ghukasyan said, adding that Azerbaijan is only waiting for the moment. At the same time, Baku is putting forward more and more new conditions to Yerevan for concluding a so- called "peace" treaty. One of these conditions is the requirement to change the Constitution of Armenia. Ghukasyan also pointed out the intentions of the Armenian authorities to change national symbols.
All these actions are accompanied by attacks on the Armenian Apostolic Church and severance of ties with the Diaspora. Prior to this, the current Prime Minister of Armenia lowered the status of Nagorno-Karabakh, and also recognized Artsakh as part of the territory of Azerbaijan, which were the first steps towards the denationalization of the Armenian state," Ghukasyan said, adding that all these steps on the part of Yerevan are part of Ankara's policy , Baku and Moscow. Turkey, according to him, is developing programs directed against Armenia, Azerbaijan is implementing them, and Russia is recording them.
"At the same time, the need to adhere to the peace agenda is constantly mentioned, but, as we see, nothing like this is happening, there is no need to talk about any peace. Moreover, this agenda has already led to catastrophic consequences. In order to divert public attention from these consequences, active propaganda is being conducted, a hybrid war is underway, which leads to the polarization of society and the weakening of the army," the political scientist emphasized, adding that against this background, Baku is actively preparing for a new aggression against Armenia.
