ArmInfo.President of the National Assembly of Armenia Alen insists on the "necessity" of changing the National Anthem and State Emblem.
"It is obvious to me that the anthem of the Republic of Armenia should be changed sooner or later, it must be Armenian one, have a connection with our state and Armenian music and comply with the rules for performing the anthem," the speaker wrote on his Telegram channel. At the same time, he stated that he does not consider it necessary to replace the music of the current anthem with the music of the great Aram Khachaturian, which, according to the speaker, is "magnificent, unsurpassed and Armenian at most." "But it is obvious that changing the existing anthem, which is foreign to us, is a necessity," said Simonyan.
He also pointed out the possibility of discussing the issue of changing the State Emblem. "At least Armenia cannot be under water, which was humanity's punishment during the Great Flood, nor can it represent the Facebook-like lion, or the chained sword protecting Armenia," Simonyan wrote, apparently, hinting at the need to exclude Mount Ararat from the coat of arms of the country, which Turkey insisted and continues to insist on.
Earlier Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan also criticized the State Emblem.
