ArmInfo. As a result of wars, there are remains, the identification examination of which was carried out several times and the results were the same, but relatives refuse to organize a funeral. RA Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan stated at a press conference on January 12.
"These forensic genetic examinations were also carried out abroad with the support and mediation of the Red Cross," said the head of the Ministry of Health.
According to the minister, decisions must be made regarding the identified cases in Armenia and abroad: Keeping the remains of fallen soldiers for years is wrong even in the refrigerator. "The funeral should be organized, the format and principles of its holding, which should be as acceptable as possible, considering all the nuances of the topic, will be decided within the framework of the interdepartmental commission," Avanesyan said.
She added that a group of parents refuse to accept the fact that their children died and do not believe in the results of the examinations. There was a case when an examination established the identity of a deceased participant in the 44-day war, but relatives refused to bury the remains. In this case, the state must take over the burial process.
