ArmInfo.Armenia intends to become a party to the Agreement on interaction between CIS member states on the issues of documenting persons subject to forced deportation.
As Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Arpine Sargsyan noted in her speech, the agreement was signed on June 8, 2023. The purpose of the agreement is to create effective mechanisms for cooperation in the field of documentation of persons subject to forced removal. The agreement determines the procedure for interaction between the parties on the issues of providing certificates for the return of persons subject to forced deportation who do not have valid documents necessary for identification and crossing the state border. In this case, we are talking about providing a single document valid in the territories of the parties to the agreement. The document does not address issues of cooperation between the parties in the field of readmission and extradition of persons in criminal cases.
The agreement was signed by the governments of the Republic of Armenia (with reservations), the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation. As of August 15 last year, the document had not entered into force.
