ArmInfo. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at this stage considers it unrealistic for forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh to return to their homes.
"The situation that developed after September 19, which forced our brothers and sisters from Nagorno- Karabakh to leave Nagorno-Karabakh, the policy and environment of ethnic cleansing have not changed, therefore, if the return of people was realistic in these conditions, they would not have left there," the prime minister said -Minister on November 24 during a live broadcast, answering a relevant question from a citizen.
He noted that the government will do everything to ensure that those forcibly displaced from Nagorno- Karabakh remain in Armenia.
The Prime Minister also expressed satisfaction that there is no significant outflow of Artsakh residents from Armenia. He hopes that in the near future, forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh will apply for Armenian citizenship in order to be fully involved in the life of society, if they do not have an objective opportunity or desire to return to Nagorno-Karabakh.
