ArmInfo. Already the second citizen of Artsakh was kidnapped by enemy forces at an illegal checkpoint in the Kashatagh (Lachin) corridor.
According to the Artsakh InfoCenter, today, on August 28, the Azerbaijani side abducted Alen N. Sargsyan (born in 2001) at an illegal checkpoint in the Kashatagh corridor. He was traveling to Armenia from Artsakh, accompanied by Russian peacekeepers.
"There is no reliable information about the reasons for the abduction yet. Alen Sargsyan is a student who was going to continue his studies in Yerevan.
Azerbaijan continues its policy of genocide against the people of Artsakh, once again violating the norms of international humanitarian law. Details of the incident will be published later," the InfoCenter said in a statement.
On July 29, 68-year-old Vagif Khachatryan, who, accompanied by the International Committee of the Red Cross, was transported from Artsakh to Armenia for treatment, was abducted by representatives of the Azerbaijani border service and taken away in an unknown direction. For several hours, nothing was known about his fate, later the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan informed about the detention of Khachatryan, accusing him of war crimes allegedly committed in 1991.
