ArmInfo.Three opposition parliamentary parties of Artsakh - the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF), Justice and Democratic Party of Artsakh - issued a joint statement on threats to statehood and appealed to the national security, defence and law enforcement agencies and to the ex-presidents of Artsakh.
In a joint statement of the parties, attention is drawn to the fact that on the eve of the next anniversary of independence, Artsakh faced serious trials.
At the same time, the parties state that the enemy seeks to destroy the statehood of Artsakh, dissolve state institutions and absorb it.
"In the three years that have passed since the war, and especially in recent months, under the blockade, we, as a nation, have shown exceptional unity around our statehood, keeping the state free from shocks, have shown unprecedented endurance in the face of difficulties. We did all this for the sake of our statehood, for the sake of our natural right to live and create freely in our own land.
Surprising as it may seem, we receive another threat to the state not from the enemy, but from ourselves, from people whose motives may be honest and naive, but the nature of the threat does not change," the opposition parties said in a statement.
Then, addressing the law enforcement agencies of Artsakh, and welcoming their approach to resolve the current situation with soft power, the opposition parties demanded that they remain faithful to the oath to protect the statehood and its institutions, act exclusively in accordance with the spirit and letter of the law.
The opposition parties also addressed the political majority of the National Assembly and other political forces and recalled that the parliament, like the institution of the President, are two pillars of the state, expressing the collective will of the people, undermining each of which is fraught with the collapse of the state.
"You, as the voice of the people, cannot remain silent, waiting for an arbitrary resolution of the situation. Preserving the constitutional order and defending the votes you have received is a paramount issue. You are obliged to express a public position and be in the first positions in preserving statehood," the statement says.
The opposition forces also addressed former presidents, state ministers, high-ranking military men and stressed that the statehood of Artsakh, with all its shortcomings, is also the result of your efforts, dedication and merit.
"You must use all your influence to resolve the created existence with wisdom and peace. You have a moral duty and a well-deserved right to be at the forefront of preserving statehood. Your silence will not be understood," the statement said.
In conclusion, they addressed the intelligentsia, public figures and the entire society, also emphasizing that statehood is the highest value earned by the blood of our parents, relatives, children and friends.
"We have always been ready at the cost of our lives to protect it from any enemy. No less important is the protection of statehood from internal contradictions, unnecessary ambitions and senseless upheavals. Indifference cannot be justified. Silence is complicity in a crime," the parties summed up.
