ArmInfo.In Armenia, only 28% of respondents heard about the programs and activities of Russia's humanitarian cooperation in the field of employment for the first time. And 76% of respondents welcome such assistance. This is evidenced by a survey conducted by VCIOM (Russian Public Opinion Research Center) on the topic: " The public opinion of the population of the CIS countries regarding Russia's humanitarian aid and contribution to the promotion of international development."
In particular, we are talking about assistance in employment (search for work) of citizens in Russia, preparation for work in Russia.
Tajikistan is the most informed about the Russian humanitarian projects - 68% of respondents, another 88% welcome such activities. Uzbekistan ranks second- 58% and 70%, respectively. Kyrgyzstan ranks third- 47% and 66% respectively. In South Ossetia, Belarus, and Moldova, 26% of respondents are aware of such initiatives, and 87%, 64%, and 62% welcome them, respectively. 17% of respondents in Abkhazia are informed, 87% welcome the initiatives. In Azerbaijan, 13% of the respondents are informed and 77% are welcome them, and 11% are informed in Kazakhstan, and 51% are welcome them.
To clarify whether you at least sometimes turn to Russian-language information sources (television, radio, other media in Russian) in Armenia, 38% of respondents answered positively, 27% - negatively, and 34 stated that from time to time. Russian sources are mostly read in South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Kazakhstan and Belarus.
The survey was prepared based on the results of a study on the topic: " The public opinion of the population of the CIS countries regarding Russia's humanitarian aid and contribution to the promotion of international development."
The purpose of the Study is to study (identify) public opinion of 10 countries of the CIS region on the contribution of the Russian Federation to international development assistance (humanitarian cooperation) and the provision of humanitarian assistance to recipient countries of the CIS region, incl. determination of the level of awareness (knowledge) of the population of these countries about Russian projects and programs in the field of international development assistance and humanitarian assistance provided by Russia to these states, as well as the perception (approval / disapproval) of Russia's actions to provide various kinds of humanitarian assistance in the countries under study (including in comparison with similar assistance received from other countries).
The task of the study is to study the level of knowledge about the humanitarian assistance provided by Russia in the country and the perception of Russia's actions to provide various kinds of humanitarian assistance in the country.
The study involved adult (18 years and older) citizens of the CIS member states.(as well as Abkhazia and South Ossetia) permanently residing in the territory of the state of which they are citizens. The object of study includes the following ten countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Abkhazia, South Ossetia.
The subject of the study is the public opinion of adults (aged 18 and over) citizens of the CIS member states about Russian projects and programs in the field of international development assistance. The subject must include the indicators specified in the Methodology for calculating the indicators of the Comprehensive State Program of the Russian Federation "Assistance to International Development".
Surveys on a given questionnaire were conducted in the countries under study during the periods - from August 23 to September 14, 2022 (wave 1) and from October 20 to November 14, 2022 (wave 2).
To ensure the representativeness of the survey of the adult population (aged 18 years and older), in each country a sample of respondents was formed, corresponding to the structure of the country's population according to the results of the last population census. Surveys in different countries were carried out in the format of a formalized interview (questionnaire) in two versions: in the method of a formalized face-to-face interview at the place of residence, and in the method of telephone interview (CATI).
