ArmInfo.Challenges related to the coronavirus pandemic and efforts to overcome them were discussed during a telephone call by Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and US Vice-Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Philip Ricker.
As reported by ArmInfo in the press service of the RA MFA, the interlocutors emphasized the importance of international cooperation and coordination of efforts in this issue.
In this context, Mnatsakanyan thanked the US government for financially assisting Armenia to prevent the spread of coronavirus. He expressed solidarity and support to the US government in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
The parties discussed the problems associated with restrictions on land and air transportation. In this regard, Mnatsakanyan touched upon the problems of Armenian citizens who are in the United States and are not able to return to their homeland, noting the importance of the American side's assistance in this matter. At the request of the interlocutor, the Armenian Foreign Minister spoke about the situation that developed on the Armenian-Azerbaijani state border in the result of a military incident on March 30.
The parties expressed readiness to take active steps to preserve and expand the Armenian-American agenda.
