ArmInfo. Among RA Police officers, no cases of COVID-19 coronavirus were detected. Hayk Mhryan, deputy chief of the RA Police, announced this at a press conference on March 23.
According to him, the police undergo daily medical examinations and, if a fever is detected, are sent to the medical unit for a more thorough examination. Mhryan informed that a number of RA Police officers passed the coronavirus test, however, all the results were negative. Meanwhile, one policeman with his family is in quarantine in Tsaghkadzor.
Mhryan also noted that treatment of patients with coronavirus was also organized in the RA Police Hospital. Currently, 59 people are undergoing treatment from COVID-19. As for the quarantine zones, which are under round-the-clock surveillance by the Police, their number, after providing the Golden Palace Hotel for these needs, increased by 10.
Speaking about the activities carried out by police to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country, Mhryan, in particular, indicated that earlier, before the introduction of the emergency regime, the police forces escorted 459 trucks from the Armenian-Iranian border to the terminals. Considering that convoys of heavy trucks were taken under escort, a total of 98 such events were carried out. According to the order of the Commandant's office, the escort of ground transportation from Iran to Armenia will continue.
Monitoring of compliance with emergency requirements is also carried out. Given the ban on events involving more than 20 people, law enforcement authorities contacted over 1350 business entities providing funeral services or related to the entertainment sector. In total, after the introduction of the emergency regime, according to the data at 23:00 on March 22, 15 commemoration and funerals were held in Armenia.
Mhryan recalled that in the field of public transport there are restrictions on the transportation of a large number of passengers: for violation of this requirement, only 73 protocols were drawn up according to data as of March 20. As for the restrictions imposed by the state of emergency on media activities, explanatory work was carried out with 23 media outlets, which made publications that did not meet the requirements of the state of emergency. Mhryan informed that no penalties had been applied to the media.
