ArmInfo.Restrictions on land and air communications between Armenia and Georgia due to the COVID-19 coronavirus will remain in effect until March 24. This is stated in a statement circulated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia.
<Considering the epidemiological situation caused by the new type of coronavirus, the Government of Armenia, as a result of bilateral consultations and agreements with the Government of Georgia, decided to limit land and air communication with Georgia by March 24, 2020 inclusively.
The restriction does not apply to citizens of Georgia and Armenia and their families returning to their homeland, persons legally entitled to reside legally, the personnel of the diplomatic missions of both countries and their families, as well as officials on official mutual visits. The normal process of cargo transportation will continue between Armenia and Georgia>, the statement says. Recall that at present 15 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Armenia. Three of the patients came to the republic from Italy, one each from Iran and France. In Georgia, 25 cases of infection with the new coronavirus COVID- 19 were detected.
