ArmInfo.The first case of infection with a new coronavirus has been recorded in Armenia. The Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan wrote about this on his Facebook page at around 5 a.m.
“Dear compatriots, about two hours ago, unfortunately, the first case of coronavirus in our country was confirmed. The patient is a 29-year-old Armenian citizen who arrived with his wife on February 28 from Tehran. He himself went to the hospital, his condition is satisfactory. At the time of appealing to the hospital, he had a temperature, however now he has not. Preliminary tests gave a positive result. It is noteworthy that the tests of his wife gave a negative result. The government will take the necessary measures in accordance with WHO requirements. All people who interacted with the patient will be isolated. I also note that on the flight from Tehran, there were citizens of Armenia. All passengers on the flight were masked, they were taken out of the airport in a special manner so that there were no unnecessary contacts, ”the Prime Minister of Armenia wrote.
Pashinyan also said that a border guard officer who arranged the patient and his wife to enter Armenia has been identified - he was wearing a medical mask and gloves.
“Taxis will be revealed that delivered him from the airport home and from home to the hospital, drivers will be isolated. High-level hotel conditions will be provided for isolated citizens. In total, about 30 citizens will be isolated, ”the head of government added.
Pashinyan also proposed to cancel the March 1 procession. “This issue will be discussed today in the board of the Civil Contract party. I stand for the cancellation of the procession. All measures are being taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Today at 12:00 the Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan will convene a press conference and present all the information.
