ArmInfo. Lawyer of the third President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan Ruben Hakobyan submitted a motion for recusal of prosecutor Arsen Martirosyan.

The lawyer stated that the confrontation was carried out with  numerous violations, during the interrogation the investigator asked  directing questions, moreover, the essence of the charge was not  fully clarified.

"I exclude that the prosecutor did not notice all these numerous  violations. However  can the prosecutor, who concealed all this, be  impartial in this case?", Hakobyan asked.

He also urged the prosecutor to recuse himself. But the prosecutor  ignored his appeal and did not recuse himself; on the contrary, he  objected to the lawyer's request. The judge withdrew to the  conference room to adjudicate the motion. The next hearing will be  held on February 26 at 3:30 p.m..

It should be noted that in the court of general jurisdiction Avan and  Nor Nork, a criminal case is being heard in which  third president of  Armenia Serzh Sargsyan is being charged as an accused. Serzh Sargsyan  is accused of organizing theft on an especially large scale - about  500 million drams.  We are talking about the state program approved  in 2013 by the Government on the more affordable acquisition of  diesel fuel for the implementation of spring agricultural work.   According to the investigation, exceeding official powers, Sargsyan  facilitated the purchase of diesel fuel from Flash Ltd at higher  prices.  Serzh Sargsyan was charged with paragraph 1 of part 3 of  article 38-179 of the RA Criminal Code, ex- Minister of Agriculture  Sergo Karapetyan - under paragraph 1 of part 3 of article 179 of the  RA Criminal Code, head of Flash Ltd Barsegh Beglaryan - under  paragraph 1 of part 3 of article 38-179 of the Criminal Code RA,  former Deputy Minister of Agriculture Samvel Galstyan and head of the  crop production department of the same ministry Gevorg Harutyunyan -  under clause 1 of part 3 of article 38-179 of the RA Criminal Code.
