ArmInfo. On January 31, as part of the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Almaty, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with Moldovan Prime Minister Ion Chicu.
According to the press service of the government, during the meeting Pashinyan noted that good political relations were established between both countries. He also pointed out that Armenia and Moldova have a rich history of cultural and humanitarian ties. At the same time, Pashinyan emphasized the need to increase the level of economic relations and trade, while indicating his willingness to work in this direction.
For his part, Ion Chicu admitted the great potential for the development of economic ties, since both countries have certain advantages in a number of areas in which cooperation can be developed. Having positively commented on the Armenian brandy and other Armenian products, Chicu noted that it is possible to develop interaction, as well as give it a new impetus, in different directions.
The prime minister also conveyed to Pashinyan the invitation of President Igor Dodon to visit Moldova.
"I also think that it is necessary to resume the work of the intergovernmental commission, which is a good platform for discussing issues and opportunities for developing cooperation," he added.
The Prime Ministers of Armenia and Moldova discussed a wide range of issues related to the development of bilateral economic relations.
