ArmInfo. During the session of the Court of Appeal, the lawyer of the second president of Armenia Robert Kocharian Hovhannes Khudoyan submitted a motion to challenge the judge Armen Danielyan.
According to the lawyer, the defense has serious doubts about the objectivity of the judge. The lawyer stated that the judge intends to keep Robert Kocharian under arrest. It was the judge Armen Danielyan in June 2019 who made the decision to re-arrest Kocharian. Khudoyan noted that the latter, when passing a judicial act, allowed falsification. The second president of Armenia is not present at the meeting. According to the lawyer, Danielyan made the decision on the arrest after a meeting with the judge Rubik Khachareyan.
Note that the Court of Appeal is considering a complaint by prosecutors against a decision of a court of general jurisdiction, which back in November 2019 ordered investigators to provide the second president's lawyers with all cases related to the events of March 1, 2008. Recall that the second president of Armenia is accused of overthrowing the constitutional order within the framework of the events of March 1, 2008. Kocharyan himself does not admit guilt and considers the charges to be fabricated.
