ArmInfo. In Armenia, attempts to undermine the situation by the former authorities were prevented. Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan said this on January 23 in an interview with reporters.
According to Grigoryan, human resources were also used to undermine the situation. <Many people surrendered to the temptation, and followed these ideas, trying to implement certain steps. I can say that they did not achieve any result>, he said, refusing to note names. According to him, the above-mentioned attempts were averted, and at the moment there is no reason for concern. As for the supporters of these subversive actions, various measures were applied against them, including dismissal.
Answering the question of whether, in this case, an environment of fear of open expression of opinions and positions could be formed, Grigoryan pointed out that, according to studies of authoritative organizations, progress has been recorded in Armenia in recent years to strengthen democracy and fight against corruption. As the head of the Security Council put it, it would hardly be possible to achieve such impressive results "under the conditions of the 37th year", and, therefore, there is no pressure on the pluralism of opinions in the republic. At the same time, speaking about the criticism addressed to the current authorities, including the rumored exaggerated rumors about their alleged desire to "surrender the lands of Karabakh", Grigoryan noted that such statements regarding the "surrender of lands" when the president was openly made by Serzh Sargsyan. Thus, as was noted, in contrast to the current situation on the Karabakh settlement, the criticism sounded during his reign was justified.
