ArmInfo.Information campaign on conservation, use and propaganda held in Armenia monuments of history and culture. The event was attended by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Araik Harutyunyan and Deputy Minister Narine Tukhikyan, who distributed envelopes with booklets to residents of buildings of cultural and historical significance.
"One of the ideas of our ministry is to inform our citizens about their rights and obligations regarding monuments, and today we are taking a symbolic step. A letter in an envelope informs citizens that they live in a monument and informs them about their rights and obligations related to with the building. Too often we are faced with a situation where citizens simply don't know what to do with this monument and what steps to take during construction, transformations that often lead to the destruction of these monuments. Now we will knock on the door ., And report to our citizens where they live We also encourage volunteers to join the project, as thousands of houses have to go through these envelopes, and we believe that it will fundamentally change the situation with the monumental buildings, "- the minister told reporters. The Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Armenia Narine Tukhikyan added that the process was started from the communities, a campaign was carried out in 3 provinces - Syunik, Ararat and Vayots Dzor. "Now we are also working on legislative changes and are trying to tighten sanctions in the relevant laws. The help of civil society in this matter will be very necessary, we must preserve the existing monuments, we have no other choice, this is our story," she said.
However, we note that, according to information available to ArmInfo, Armenian TV channels refused the project proposed by specialists in notification of cultural monuments and history of the country. In particular, the refusal was received under a project in which it was planned to present the cultural and historical heritage of the city of Gyumri.
