ArmInfo. From February 29 to March 5, 2020, the Armenian Odyssey festival dedicated to Armenian music and cinema will be held in Washington. This was reported by the press service of the National Cinema Center of Armenia.
The festival was initiated by the National Gallery of Washington in collaboration with the Armenian Embassy in the USA and the National Cinema Center of Armenia. As part of it, musical works will be presented to the audience, as well as classic films. So, the restored program of Sergey Parajanov's films "Color of the Pomegranate" and "Hakob Hovnatanyan", as well as the film of Hamo Beknazarian <Zangezur> are included in the festival program.
The documentary film "Hakob Hovnatanyan" (1967) was restored and digitized last year by the Polish company FIXAFILM. After that, it was presented in a number of major international film festivals. For example, the International Film Festival in Rotterdam included a tape in the program "Temple of Cinema", dedicated to the 95th anniversary of Sergei Parajanov. As expected, a similar program will also be held in 2020 at the Lumiere Brothers Film Festival in Lyon.
