ArmInfo. The process of ratification of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the EU (CEPA) will be completed in the upcoming months. This was announced by Chairman of the Permanent Parliamentary Committee on European Integration Arman Yeghoyan at a press conference on December 26.
He informed that so far 23 out of 28 EU countries have ratified the Agreement. In addition, the document was ratified by the Italian Senate, and the Chamber of Deputies has the last word. In other countries - Austria, Greece, Spain and Portugal, parliamentary elections were held this year, which affected the ratification of the CEPA. ''We stay in touch with our representatives. The process of ratification of the Agreement will reach its completion in the coming months''. Yeghoyan noted, adding that the process will probably require more time from the Spanish parliament, since its respective commissions will be formed in mid-January.
The Agreement on Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership between Armenia and the EU (CEPA) was signed in Brussels on November 24, 2017, and ratified by the RA National Assembly on April 11, 2018. It should be noted that Armenia became the first member country of the EAEU to sign a similar Agreement with the European Union.
