ArmInfo. The criminal case against former parliamentary speaker Ara Babloyan and former deputy head of the parliament's apparatus Arsen Babayan will be returned for further investigation. This information is confirmed by the Prosecutor's Office. According to the source, the decision was made by the supervising prosecutor, who concluded that the indictment was not confirmed.
Earlier, the Special Investigation Service reported that there is evidence that in March 2018, in the process of Gagik Harutyunyan's resignation of the powers of the Chairman of the Constitutional Court, officials, based on group interests, personally and also through non-officials committed official forgery, to appoint Hrayr Tovmasyan to the post of head of the Constitutional Court. In fact, a criminal case was opened on usurpation of power, within the framework of which charges were brought against Ara Babloyan and Arsen Babayan.
Ara Babloyan is charged under part 1 of article 300 and part 1 of article 314 of the Criminal Code of RA, and Arsen Babayan - under part 1 of article 38-300 and part 1 of article 314 of the Criminal Code of RA.
