ArmInfo. ''In my opinion, the recent statement by Prime Minister Pashinyan on counteracting the revolution was addressed to officials who have been earning illegal income for years due to their official position'', member of the National Assembly of Armenia from the "My Step" bloc Kristine Poghosyan expressed such an opinion to ArmInfo.
"It is clear that due to such additional incomes their work in state structures was quite profitable. Meanwhile, today these people ''have to work'' for the development of the state getting only a salary for that. It is clear that this fact does not fit in their minds, and the aspiration for counteraction mentioned by the prime minister proceeds from this, "the parliamentarian emphasized.
At a government meeting on December 12, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced the opposition of the Armenian state apparatus to the revolution. After which he stated that economic growth and other indicators were achieved contrary to state structures. According to the prime minister, even the fight against corruption is carried out contrary to the state system, since law enforcement agencies endlessly delay the investigation of cases. In conclusion, Pashinyan promised officials to combat this opposition.
According to the parliamentarian, despite the difficulties in identifying such officials in the public administration system, whenever the leadership of state structures succeeds to identify them, it immediately removes them. The parliamentarian is convinced that the work carried out in the direction of cleaning government structures is being carried out in the right direction and will succeed over time.
According to Poghosyan, the extremely cautious approach of the government and the prime minister to the process of optimizing and cleaning the public administration system from the "cadres of the past" is due to the unwillingness to harm the state. This automatically leads to a slowdown in the reform of the public administration system, however, eliminates the possibility of inflicting irreparable damage on it.
"In the end, quite a lot of officials were simply forced to work according to the vicious rules of the past coming from above. They simply had no alternative. And today, when this alternative has appeared, they need to be given a chance, an opportunity to work in the name of the state, and not their own pocket and I'm convinced that this opportunity suits many and that all these people can work calmly without looking at the special requests of their superiors. We are going in the right direction - this is the main thing. We just need time, " Poghosyan summed up.
