ArmInfo. In Armenia, there is a need to develop a state information security strategy. Samvel Martirosyan, an expert on information security issues, said this at a press conference in Yerevan on December 18.
According to him, the lack of a state strategy leads to serious problems. For example, in the country there are no relevant rules governing the use of communications or telephones used by officials. The expert noted that information leakage can do more harm than hacking official sites. According to him, today on a global scale there are hacker organizations working for states and performing tasks to disable the enemy's infrastructure, which may have much more serious consequences than military operations, and Armenia is not yet ready to withstand this.
The expert also believes that legislative gaps will remain one of the main problems for Armenia in 2020. "Next year, for ordinary users, the challenge will be the boom of electronic commerce, and in this regard, it is necessary to develop an appropriate culture of behavior and use only trusted electronic stores and sources," he added, pointing out the importance of improving information literacy of the population, which is the most effective a way to deal with fake news. "As long as there is a demand for such information, such media will function and flourish>," Samvel Martirosyan emphasized. According to him, out of about 1 million 300 thousand users of social networks, about 70 thousand are fake users.
