ArmInfo. On November 27, a court of general jurisdiction in Yerevan rejected the request of the lawyers of Head of the State Control Service (SCS) of Armenia David Sanasaryan to terminate the proceedings.
Presenting this petition, the defense side of Sanasaryan insisted that the investigative department of the National Security Service, which had carried out the preliminary investigation in this case, was an unconstitutional body. The reason for this statement was that the charter and the procedure for forming the aforementioned department were not regulated by the law "On National Security Bodies", but were approved by the decision of the Prime Minister. In this regard, lawyers in their application voiced the requirement to send the case to the Constitutional Court to study the above circumstances.
To recall, on April 18 of the current year, Sanasaryan was charged with part 1 of Article 308 of the RA Criminal Code (abuse of power). According to investigators, a number of SCS employees illegally interfered in the procedure for organizing a tender for the purchase of hemodialysis accessories. As part of the criminal case, Samvel Adyan, head of the SCS procurement control department, chief specialist of the same department Gevorg Khachatryan, as well as "Zorashen" LLC accountant Taron Avetisyan, who participated in the tender, were arrested. Later they were all released from custody.
