ArmInfo. The main directions of the 2020 action plan for the development of cooperation between Armenia and the European Union have already been agreed. This was announced in Yerevan during a meeting with Director of the European Commission's Directorate for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiation Enlargement Lawrence Meredith and Deputy Managing Director for Europe, Central Asia, Eastern Partnership, Russia, Regional Cooperation and the OSCE in the European External Relations Service, Luc Devin RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan. According to the press service of the Government of Armenia, during the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister noted the importance of cooperation with the EU and touched upon the implementation of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the EU. The Deputy Prime Minister presented the work of the interdepartmental commission headed by him and spoke with satisfaction about the process of its implementation after the approval of the agreed roadmap. Mher Grigoryan also noted the achievements in the framework of bilateral cooperation, emphasizing that the documents developed as part of the action plan for 2019 are already under development and the main directions of the annual action plan for 2020 have been agreed.
Thanking for the reception, Lawrence Meredith and Luc Devin emphasized that the EU will continue to provide practical support to the reforms initiated by the Armenian government. Luc Devin noted with satisfaction the effective work of government representatives in coordinating work with the EU. Lawrence Meredith, in turn, noted that the European Union is interested in providing the necessary assistance to Armenia, including in the field of justice, education and high technologies, as well as in unlocking economic potential. The interlocutors also exchanged views on the development of human capital in Armenia.
