ArmInfo. Head of the Special Investigation Service (SIS) of Armenia Sasun Khachatryan commented on the health status of former governor of the Syunik region of Armenia Surik Khachatryan, who is charged under several articles of the Criminal Code and put on the wanted list.
On November 26, in an interview with reporters, he said that a forensic medical examination was scheduled as part of the criminal case, and all medical certificates provided by Surik Khachatryan's lawyer were handed over to the relevant expert. "He came to the conclusion that Surik Khachatryan can either continue his treatment abroad or continue it in Armenia," said the head of the SIS.
The former governor has been charged under part 1 of Article 309 (excess of official authority), clause 1 of part 3 of Article 38- 179 (complicity in the appropriation or embezzlement on an especially large scale) and part 1 of Articles 38-314 (Participation in official forgery) of the RA Criminal Code. Meanwhile, Surik Khachatryan is in abroad, in connection with which a search was announced in his regard. Earlier in an interview he said that he had been abroad for a long time due to serious health problems, and promised to return to the republic after completing treatment.
