ArmInfo. The sale of arms to Azerbaijan by the CSTO allies of Armenia is a serious problem. This opinion was expressed by former Minister of Defense of Armenia Vagarshak Harutyunyan in an interview with reporters.
"I think this is a serious problem, because when we talk about Collective Security of the CSTO member countries, we must understand that it is based on one law - a threat to Armenia, is a threat to all members of the Organization," Harutyunyan noted. while adding that the CSTO member states should not take steps or actions against the strategic security of another partner state.
At the same time, he believes that the sale of weapons fits into this logic, but there are some nuances here. "You need to understand that in one case it provides a balance, and in the other, it violates this balance. A problem exists. You need to talk about it and look for a solution," Harutyunyan summed up.
It should be noted that Armenia at the highest level has repeatedly stressed the inadmissibility of the sale of arms to Azerbaijan by the CSTO allies (Russia and Belarus). However, so far this question has not found its logical solution.
