The California Business and Profession Committee approved a draft law on opening a state regional trade mission in Armenia.As the press service of the Foreign Ministry of Armenia told ArmInfo, the bill, sponsored by Senate member Anthony Portaineau, was unanimously approved.Armen Bayburyan, Armenian Consular General in Los Angeles, spoke at the committee meeting in Sacramento, stressing the importance of opening a representative office both in a regional context and in the framework of bilateral relations between the republic and the US state.
"Among my priorities as Consular General is a significant deepening of economic cooperation between Armenia and California. We hope that this initiative will be mutually beneficial, and will contribute to increasing investments from California to Armenia, as well as bilateral trade and economic cooperation," said Bayburtyan.The regional office will deal with trade and economic relations with Armenia, Eastern Europe and Western Asia.
