ArmInfo. On March 6, the Chairman of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, received the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Armenia Muhammad Isa al-Zaab.
According to the government's press service, Mirzoyan congratulated the ambassador on his appointment, expressing confidence that the diplomat during his tenure would make the best use of his professional capabilities in the interest of further strengthening and revitalizing the ties between the two countries.In line with the political dialogue, the head of the legislative body stressed the role and importance of parliamentary diplomacy, highlighting the importance of the Armenia-UAE parliamentary friendship group being formed.
Speaking about the Armenian-Emirates relations, the Chairman of the Parliament highlighted the work of the intergovernmental commission in strengthening trade and economic cooperation."The UAE can become a window for Armenia within the framework of cooperation with the Gulf countries, and Armenia, in turn, is a bridge for the UAE to the countries and markets of the EAEU," Mirzoyan stressed.The head of the parliament assured that the newly elected National Assembly will continue fruitful cooperation in order to intensify bilateral relations.
The UAE Ambassador expressed confidence that he would make efforts to strengthen bilateral relations for the benefit of friendly nations. He noted the role of the Armenian community in strengthening cooperation between the two countries, as well as participation in the development of the UAE. The parties noted the existing potential for cooperation in various areas, in particular, highlighting the areas of new technologies, tourism, opportunities created in the Republic of Armenia and a favorable environment for the development of entrepreneurship and investment.
