ArmInfo.A grand concert dedicated to the memory of the great Armenian composer Arno Babajanyan took place on February 22 at the Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet named after Spendiaryan.
The organizer of the concert was the Arno Babajanian International Memorial Foundation, headed by its leader, the son of the great maestro Ara Babajanyan. The Foundation periodically holds concerts in the capitals of Armenia and Russia, as well as in other cities.
"The current concert titled "Azg im Parapandz'' is not just another concert. This is another charitable action of the Arno Babajanian International Memorial Foundation. This time it is aimed at supporting the "My Step" foundation, founded by the wife of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan Anna Hakobyan. Roman Baghdasaryan, member of the Arno Babajanyan International Memory Foundation, a well-known Russian-Armenian blogger and entertainer told ArmInfo correspondent. Baghdasaryan with his friend and colleague - a popular Armenian TV presenter, entertainer and actor Karen Kocharyan made presenters of this cultural evening. Roman Baghdasaryan recalled that back on November 11 last year, when the presentation of the "My Step" Foundation took place in Moscow, the International Foundation for the Memory of Arno Babajanyan took over the organization of the cultural program of the evening: One Foundation again supports the other one, due to it people can enjoy unforgettable Babajanyan evening. All the funds, obtained from the sale of tickets to the charity concert, will be handed over to the "My Step" Foundation to help the children of Armenia, children suffering from oncological diseases.
The concert was held in a very warm, wonderful atmosphere. Singers from the USA, Germany, Russia, Armenia and other countries took part in it. Among them were such performers as Nikolay Ryabukha, Arsen Stepanyan, Artur Aghajanov, Sona Rubenyan, Karine Asiryan, Vazgen Gabrielyan, Sona Shahgeldyan, Silva Hakobyan, Gagik Yezakian, Armen Avdzhan, Suzanna Melkumyan and many others. Angela Albertyan and Arpine Gevorgyan, little performers of Babajanyan masterpieces, came out on the big stage and surprised the audience with their magnificent voices. By the way, 10-year-old Angela Albertyan, a student of the Yerevan Music School named after Chughajyan, impressed the audience by her strong, deep and "non-childish" voice. And this year, the young singer will represent Armenia at the annual international competition-festival "Slavic Bazaar -2019", which will be held July 8-18 in Belarusian Vitebsk.
It is noteworthy that the impression of the concert was amazing - and the organization of the concert itself, the professionalism and humor of the presenters, the strong and beautiful voices of the singers, the opening of young names - and all this under the highly professional performance of the country's oldest philharmonic orchestra under the leadership of Honored Art Worker of Armenia Eduard Topchyan.
The general sponsors of the evening were the "Alternative-Tour" company, as well as Shahen Petrosyan, the head of the Moscow branch of the Union of Armenians of Russia.
It should be noted that 10 years ago the ArmInfo correspondent happened attended at a similar concert, also dedicated to the memory of Arno Babajanyan. Then the majority of performers, Armenian pop "stars", made a culture shock on the viewer with their total voicelessness and reading songs on paper without a twinge of conscience. Then the impression of the concert was saved only by a couple of other performers, including Karen Movsesyan - a baritone invited from the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater, who, by the way, graduated from the Yerevan Conservatory, but, like most of our talents, did not find recognition in his homeland at that time. Karen's voice caused a sigh of relief, hope, delight, sweeping through the room. And I was impressed by his tact during the final song, which all singers had to sing together. Karen modestly took the microphone behind his back - as the power of his voice even without a microphone exceeded the ''stars''of Armenian pop music.
Unfortunately, Karen Movsesian, one of the best contemporary Babajanyan performers, was unable to come to Yerevan from Novosibirsk this time for a number of reasons, although he was previously announced in the program. The concert was attended by the son of the great composer Ara Babajanyan and his wife Maya, as well as the first lady of Armenia, the head of the "My Step" Foundation, Anna Hakobyan.
