ArmInfo. The second president of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, who is under arrest, closely follows the processes developing in Armenia, Artsakh and the region. This is stated in the statement of Kocharyan himself.
The statement, in particular, stresses: "The authorities of the country, under the leadership of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, are showing impermissible helplessness in running the state. In the near future, we will witness a great disappointment, which is a sad but predictable result of the impracticable and populist promises of the new regime. And the price for mistakes in the economy, foreign and domestic light on the internal policy will be extremely high. Unfortunately, we will all be forced to pay the price. "
According to him, any mistake in the settlement of the Karabakh conflict (and they already exist) can lead to irreversible and fateful consequences.
Referring to his "case," Kocharyan, in particular, noted that the arrest was carried out in violation of the law with a view to removing it from political life. However, these attempts, according to the statement of the second president, are unpromising. "I was made a political prisoner with all the ensuing consequences. The case fabricated by several adventurers has already collapsed. Each of his episodes will become one of the shameful pages of our history, regardless of the fact that all its authors and performers will be punished to the fullest extent of the law", - Kocharyan wrote, assuring that the arrest will not be able to break him or force him to give up political activities, despite the expectations of the current authorities.
Kocharyan also thanked his supporters for their consistent struggle. "Believe me, this is not a struggle for the freedom of one person, but for the values that underlay all our victories. Thanks to all those who do not succumb to fear and disagree with the crowd, I have no doubt that what is happening is short-lived, because a lie is always short, because no power based on falsehood, ignorance and hatred has ever had a long history, "concluded the second President of Armenia.
