ArmInfo. After the appeal of the Prime Minister of Armenia (Nikol Pashinyan. Ed.), during the summer draft, 140 people more than had been planned, returned, and were called to the Armed Forces. On January 8, the military commissar, Major General Heinrich Muradyan, told reporters at the Central Assembly Point of the Armenian Defense Ministry.
According to him, data on them during the winter draft will be given after the completion of the draft.
Referring to the applicants on the part of the service within the framework of the programs "This is me" and "I have the honor", then Muradyan noted: "We do not include anyone in the lists until we communicate with parents and do not get their consent. Work on this part will last until January 26. If after that there are willing, then we will conclude contracts here and send conscripts to military units. I think that the number 72 in the framework of the program "This I" is not final. It will grow, as there are statements that are under discussion".
But the main innovation of the winter draft in 2019 was that recruits will be able to carry mobile phones with them, which, however, do not have the function of photography and video filming and Internet access. As stated by the Armenian military commissioner, the commanding personnel of military units will exercise control in this matter.
To note, in a video message on May 28, 2018, the son of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Ashot, stated that he had decided to do military service in the Karabakh Defense Army. At the same time, the Prime Minister of Armenia made an appeal to all those in military service who are abroad, who are already 18, but 27 years old. Recalling that the summer call begins on July 1, he urged conscripts to return to Armenia within the next 10-20 days and go to urgent military service, "to fulfill their duty to their homeland." With a similar appeal, he also addressed those young men living in Armenia who, through a pull or an acquaintance, received a deferment from military service on medical indications. "New Armenia is not for such ways," he said. Later, Pashinyan stated at the meeting of the Cabinet that many of the draft dodgers from urgent service are in search of Armenia and may face legal problems on their return. In this context, he urged the issue to be resolved in such a way that they, upon returning to their homeland for service, would not encounter additional problems. "A person of military age who expressed willingness to return to Armenia for military service should be able to sign an obligation immediately upon arrival that he should come to the military registration and enlistment office in due time. And only after he violates this obligation to apply certain procedures, "he pointed out. In response, the head of the Armenian Police Valery Osipyan assured that an individual approach should be applied to each recruit. In addition, as Pashinyan said, among these citizens are specialists who have received higher education abroad. Thus, there is a reason to use their professional skills for the development of the Armenian military industry. Taking this into account, he called on the head of the RA Ministry of Defense to organize the process in such a way as to involve them in particular in the development process of the Armenian military industrial complex.
