ArmInfo. It would be absurd to rank the Bright Armenia Party as an opposition. On December 11, at a meeting with journalists, Levon Shirinyan, head of the Christian- National Revival party, said this.
He noted that this is due to the fact that the Bright Armenia party, like the Civil Contract party, is the bearer of the liberal ideology. "The factual presence in the National Assembly of the Bright Armenia party indicates that Nikol Pashinyan's political bloc won about 80% of the vote. The ideological and programmatic similarity between the Bright Armenia and the Civil Contract parties does not give Edmon Marukyan's party opposition," stressed Shirinyan.
"In fact, it turns out that the ruling party received an overwhelming majority in parliament, however, as I noted earlier, in order to ensure the normal operation of the National Assembly, the My Step bloc had to collect 60% of the votes, that is, to get a stable majority," he stressed.
Shirinyan also expressed the view that the political party of Nikol Pashinyan already needs to offer development programs and show results in order to preserve legitimacy. "The main target of these elections was eliminated. The Republican Party of Armenia, although it gained about 60 thousand votes, failed to enter the parliament. From now on, it is no longer possible to build a political line based on the euphoria and criticism of the former authorities," Shirinyan stressed.
Levon Shirinyan stressed that in economic policy it is first of all necessary to concentrate on domestic resources and only then rely on investments from abroad. To note, the party "Christian-national revival" in the course of early parliamentary elections won 0.51% of the vote.
