ArmInfo.NA President Ara Babloyan received the chief specialists of the Ministry of Healthcare and the leaders of the leading medical centers of Turkmenistan.
As the press service of the parliament told ArmInfo, the delegation is in Armenia with the assistance of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the ''Iodine'' universal Internet network. The purpose of the visit is to study the experience of screening newborns, already thirteen years spent in Armenia.
Babloyan introduced the legislative field of Armenia in the areas of healthcare, social security, protection of children's rights. The Speaker of the National Assembly presented the efforts of specialists in introducing programs for screening newborns, their work and its results. According to the head of parliament, in order to identify the disability of children from the early stage of the life cycle, in case of rendering the necessary intervention with the help of comprehensive services and measures, it is quite realistic to ensure the further full involvement of the child in public life.
Babloyan is convinced that the best results are possible if there is interdepartmental cooperation in the social, healthcare and educational fields, with the active participation of municipal bodies.
The head of the legislative body noted that one of the important features of the model is the creation by the state of a rehabilitation service for children with developmental problems and people with disabilities, the opportunity for them to receive education and the provision of full-fledged care.
In turn, the guests from Turkmenistan noted that the productive experience accumulated in Armenia will be applied whenever possible in their country. Members of the delegation expressed readiness for further cooperation and implementation of joint programs.
