ArmInfo. The National Security Service of Armenia continues to work as a tool for political persecution against the Sasna Tsrer party. This is stated in the party statement.
"A few weeks ago, we regarded attempts to hinder communication between representatives of the party and residents of the cities of Martuni, Gyumri and Vanadzor as local arbitrariness, however, when these actions were repeated, it became obvious that all this is coordinated from a single center," the party reads. The statement notes that before the meeting of the representatives of the party with the residents of the city of Artik, the staff of the local National Security Service began to clarify the content of these meetings, monitor their progress while sitting in the cars. "An attempt was also made to introduce" one's own person "into the party, but it failed. In addition, the deputy head of the Akhuryan regional branch Arthur Gevorgyan approached the party's supporters and urged them to stay away from Sasna Tsrer representatives. The citizens also said that he had visited supporters of parties at work and put pressure on them. Finally, on October 31, the Armenian police called the Sasna Tsrer office and tried to find out about the state of the party's affairs, when did its members try to clarify why such questions are asked, the police gave a vague explanation.
Approximately the same actions were carried out by the officers of the National Security Service of Ijevan, called the representatives of the party for an interview and tried to exert psychological influence on them. In addition, there were cases when police officers or civilians followed members of the party. All this indicates that the persecution of the party has deep roots. We call on the acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan to take the necessary measures to stop the persecution against the Sasna Tsrer party. We also urge to punish all those responsible for protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens and political institutions, "the statement reads.
