ArmInfo.Minister of Emergency Situations of Armenia Feliks Tsolakyan and Japanese Ambassador to Armenia Jun Yamada discussed the issues of expanding bilateral cooperation on October 23.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia, welcoming the guest, Tsolakyan expressed gratitude to the Government of Japan for the assistance provided.
During the meeting, the interlocutors discussed areas of cooperation between the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Government of Japan, in particular the project "Improving Fire Property" in Lori, Shirak and Syunik Regions, expanding the rapid response capabilities of the Emergency Rescue Service, the National Network for Crisis Management and Risk Management in Disaster, and other questions. Earlier, ArmInfo reported that the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (IICA) in 2019 would donate 40 new fire-rescue vehicles to Armenia. The equipment will be received next year in three stages. This will allow to more effectively perform their functions. It is envisaged that three regions of Armenia will receive new equipment - Lori, Shirak and Syunik.
