ArmInfo.Canada, which officially recognized the Armenian Genocide, will continue to seek international recognition of the genocide, since it is by recognizing the past that a consensus can be achieved in the future. This was stated by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau during his official visit to Armenia.
He noted that he had already honored the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide in the Tsitsernakaberd memorial: "Henceforth, we must not allow the repetition of such crimes." In turn, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that the recognition of the Genocide for Armenians is not only a moral issue, but also a security issue. "Even a century later, this threat is hanging over us in the form of a blockade of Armenia by Turkey," the Armenian Prime Minister concluded.
