ArmInfo. The government of Armenia at the meeting on October 4 dismissed the governors of the regions representing the Prosperous Armenia Party and the ARF Dashnaktsutyun Party.
According to RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Development Suren Papikan, the governor of Syunik Karen Hambardzumyan, the governor of Aragatsotn region Ashot Simonyan, the governor of Lori Hrant Margaryan, governor of Vayots Dzor Aragats Saghatelyan, governor of Armavir region Gagik Mirijanyan and governor of Gegharkunik region Ishxan Saghatelyan were dismissed. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan reminded of the reasons that led to the resignations of the ministers and governors. "In any case, we thank them for joint work and wish them success in their future activities," noted the Prime Minister.
To note, on the night of October 3, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian signed decrees on the dismissal of six ministers, who represented the Dashnaktsutyun and Prosperous Armenia parties in the government. According to the report of the President's Office, Armen Sarkissian dismissed them at the suggestion of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Hrachya Rostomyan, Minister of Transport, Communications and Information Technologies Ashot Hakobyan, Head of the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs Levon Vahradyan, Minister of Agriculture Artur Khachatryan, as well as Minister of Economic Development and Investments Artsvik Minasyan were dismissed. On October 2, several tens of thousands of people gathered at the call of the RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan outside the Armenian parliament building in protest against the bill passed by the deputies, which makes it difficult to dissolve the parliament. The prime minister called the bill "counterrevolutionary" and promised that in order to hold early parliamentary elections he will also resign after the dismissal of ministers and governors from the Prosperous Armenia and Dashnakutsutyun parties.
