ArmInfo. Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan met with the Uruguayan colleague Rodolfo Ninew Novoa on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York.
As the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic told ArmInfo, the ministers discussed issues related to the further expansion of close cooperation in both bilateral and multilateral formats. Both sides stressed the importance of holding consultations between the foreign ministries of friendly countries.
Mnatsakanyan noted that, despite the geographical distance between Armenia and Uruguay, our two countries unite strong friendship and commitment to universal human values.
Both sides stressed the active participation of the Armenian community of Uruguay in various spheres of life of the country and its leading role in strengthening friendship between the two states and peoples.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on regional problems and efforts to resolve them. Mnatsakanyan presented the position and priorities of the Armenian side to the settlement of the Karabakh conflict to Uruguayan counterpart, stressing the importance of creating an atmosphere of peace for the advancement of the negotiation process.
