Today in Tajikistan, a regular meeting of the heads of the CIS countries began its work. As the TASS reports, opening the summit, Rahmon summarized the results of Tajikistan's chairmanship in the CIS, announced the main items on the agenda of the current Council of Heads of State. He particularly welcomed the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, who for the first time takes part in the CIS CIS. The meeting in a narrow format then continued in a closed mode for the press.
According to the CIS Executive Committee, at a meeting of the Council of Heads of State in a narrow format, it is planned to exchange views on cooperation within the framework of the Commonwealth, as well as discuss questions about the chairmanship in the organization, date and venue of the next meeting of the Council. At the enlarged meeting, issues of political interaction, further development of cooperation in cultural and humanitarian areas, in the sphere of security, as well as projects aimed at improving the legal and organizational and personnel support of the CIS activities will be considered.
Following the meeting, the heads of delegations will have to sign 18 documents, including the approval of the transfer of the chairmanship in the CIS in 2019 to Turkmenistan.
