ArmInfo.Deputy Minister of Justice of Armenia Suren Krmoyan received Sabine Rakotomalala, Country Engagement officer at Global Partnership to End Violence against Children.
According to the press service of RA Ministry of Justice, the parties discussed issues related to combating violence against children.
Suren Krmoyan highly appreciated the role of this program, initiated by UNICEF. He proposed a more active cooperation in this direction. According to Krmoyan, the Ministry of Justice is working on a package of legislative changes, but to implement it, clear tools and mechanisms are needed.
Sabine Rakotomalala, in her turn, noted the importance of Armenia's participation in the activities carried out by UNICEF in the field of combating violence against children. She also pointed out the ways in which, in particular, the work of UNICEF with the Armenian Ministry of Justice is planned.
In 2013, UNICEF initiated the campaign "Put an end to violence against children". The purpose of this campaign was to raise public awareness of the problem of violence against children and encourage support and participation in local movements, which will help solve this pressing global problem.
