ArmInfo. The Armenian Foreign Ministry issued a statement in connection with the murder of an Armenian serviceman by the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan.

The Armenian Foreign Ministry reminded that recently Azerbaijan  regularly fires the Armenian- Azerbaijani state border, turning it  into a target and causing damage to populated areas, civil  institutions and civilians along the whole line of the state border.  "Today, as a result of shelling from the Azerbaijani side, a soldier  of the Armed Forces of Armenia, private Haykaz Matevosyan was killed.  We express our deepest condolences to the family, relatives and  colleagues of the deceased, and we assure that we will continue to  work resolutely towards the establishment of peace. Such actions by  the Azerbaijani side aimed at escalating the situation, as well as  militant rhetoric from Baku, undermine the efforts of the OSCE Minsk  Group Co-Chairs and the international community aimed at creating an  atmosphere conducive to peace. 

Strongly condemning the actions of Azerbaijan, we draw the attention  of the international community and first of all the co-chairs of the  OSCE Minsk Group to the immediate need to curb Baku and return it  constructively in order to prevent further escalation of the  situation, "the press secretary of the Armenian Foreign Ministry,  Tigran Balayan, said in a statement.
