ArmInfo. On September 4, Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe Thomas Greminger.
As the RA MFA press service reports, welcoming the guest, Zohrab Mnatsakanyan stressed that Armenia values the OSCE as an important regional platform. Cooperation with the structure occupies a significant place in the foreign policy agenda of the country. The head of the foreign policy department stressed the readiness of the Armenian side to continue active interaction with the structure within the framework of the "Program of Cooperation with the OSCE".
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the cooperation programs between the OSCE Secretariat and the Armenian Foreign Ministry.
Presenting the latest domestic political developments in the country, the Foreign Minister noted that the priority of the new government's program is the continuation of the reform process aimed at the rule of law, ensuring equal economic and social opportunities, and combating corruption. Zohrab Mnatsakanyan highlighted the development agenda, which is considered one of the priorities of the government, based on innovations in creative education, industry, agriculture and other spheres. In the context of the work carried out towards the early parliamentary elections, the minister pointed out the importance of active cooperation with international partners in order to organize the election process at the proper level.
Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Thomas Greminger discussed the latest developments in the Karabakh conflict settlement process. The interlocutors underlined the importance of the settlement of the problem exclusively by peaceful means within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. In this context, the RA Minister of Foreign Affairs stressed that the priority for the Armenian side is the status of Artsakh and its security, and for the progress of the settlement process it is important to create an atmosphere of trust for peace. In this direction, the RA FM considered the fulfillment of previously reached agreements paramount, the termination of violations of the ceasefire and militant rhetoric.
