ArmInfo. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan instructed Justice Minister Artak Zeynaloyan to organize a press conference of Shant Harutyunyan, who was sentenced to six years of imprisonment for resisting the representative of power with the use of violence, as appropriate. As Pashinyan noted in his interview with journalists, he does not see any problems in communicating with media representatives Harutyunyan.
Earlier Pashinyan during the live broadcast on Facebook said that he offered Harutyunyan to change the measure of his restraint from a semi-free regime to free, but the latter refused, demanding unconditional justification. However, Pashinyan stated that he does not intend to manage the activities of the judiciary, like the previous authorities, which should act independently of the executive power.
In response, Shant Harutyunyan asked the authorities to give him the opportunity to hold a press conference at the penitentiary, saying that he would accept the refusal as a continuation of the methods of the former regime, which refused to communicate with the media. In this connection, the statement was also made by the group "Sasna Tsrer", which demanded the immediate justification and release of Harutyunyan, stressing that there are all legal bases for this. "All other explanations are an attempt to throw dust in the public eye," the statement said.
The son of Harutyunyan Shahen gave the authorities time to free his father before October 7. Otherwise, he assured, the processes will be unexpected.
