ArmInfo. Unprecedented conditions have been created in Armenia since 1995 to hold free and fair elections, the leader of the "Constituent Parliament" movement,  hero of the Karabakh war Zhirayr Sefilyan stated on August 23, at a  press conference in Yerevan,.  

He stated that the transitional government did not take radical measures during the removal of the former regime from power, but surgical intervention will still be  needed after some time. According to him, today Armenia faces serious  challenges, which does not mean returning the former authorities to  the political arena of the country. "Their times have passed, the  former people will not be able to return to power, although we  perfectly understand that they are trying to do this not of their own  free will, and we know who is pushing them to this." This  geopolitical force must understand that there are new times in  Armenia and cooperation with our country is possible on equal terms,  "Sefilyan said.

At the same time, the hero of the Karabakh war stressed that he and  the "Sasna Tsrer" party being established by him will cooperate with  the incumbent prime minister Nikol Pashinyan and will support his  initiatives. "We must understand that Pashinyan's failure is our  common failure, there is no way back, and if we manage to find the  right ways to participate in the upcoming extraordinary elections to  the Armenian parliament, the possible entry of representatives of the  former regime, the so-called counterrevolutionaries, into the new  National Assembly will be ruled out. The new parliament should have  patriots who will be able to lead the country out of the deep crisis,  which it currently faces. Pashinyan does not talk about it, but  Armenia is in serious crisis, it has become impoverished, and in  order to put it on feet, dedicated work and patriotism are needed",  Sefilyan summed up.
