ArmInfo.Yerevan continues to maintain its positions in the top 5 summer trips of Russians to the cities of the CIS countries. This is evidenced by the rating of the  cities of the CIS, prepared by the analytical agency TurStat.

Baku in Azerbaijan, Minsk in Belarus, Almaty in Kazakhstan, Yerevan  in Armenia, Astana in Kazakhstan, Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan, Tashkent in  Uzbekistan, Chisinau in Moldova, Dushanbe in Tajikistan and Ashgabat  in Turkmenistan are among the top ten CIS cities among Russian  tourists this summer . The rating is based on the analysis of the  popularity of tourist trips in the summer. According to Turstat,  tourists come to CIS cities in the summer on average for two days and  then rest at resorts. On average, Russian tourists spend on holidays  in the cities and resorts of the CIS countries from $ 50 to $ 100 per  day for accommodation and meals. The most inexpensive summer tours in  the CIS are selected in Chisinau and Bishkek, and for weekend and  shopping tours, Baku and Astana lead.

Earlier, ArmInfo informed that by the end of 2017 more than 280  thousand tourists from Russia visited Armenia, which exceeded the  indicators of 2016 by 32%. Armenia occupies the 27th place in the  list of the most popular destinations for outbound tourism from  Russia. More than 50 thousand Russians arrived to the republic only  on internal passports.

We add that according to the calculations of the specialists of the  State Committee for Tourism, every tourist who came to Armenia spent  $ 700- $ 800. This "surcharge" in 2017 provided $ 1 billion in the  structure of Armenia's GDP.
