ArmInfo. The company Veolia Djur has an indirect relation to frequent cessation of water supply of drinking water consumers in the capital of Armenia. This is stated in the company's explanations.
According to the press service of Veolia Djur, recently there have been frequent complaints about the permissible duration of the shutdown of water supply, delays in the construction of new water pipelines, problems with asphalting of streets. Meanwhile, at present, in Yerevan, with the assistance of the financial institutions of the European Union, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, a program is being implemented to modernize the water supply system. This work, to which Veolia Djur has nothing to do, is carried out by the State Water Committee of the Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources of the Republic of Armenia. However, this work is associated with various technical problems, which are caused by the statements of construction companies on the termination of water supply in this or that region of Yerevan.
At the present time, water pipes are being modernized in the streets of Aram Khachatryan, Sose, Gulbenkian, Kond, Paronyan, Kievyan, Proshyan, Shirvanzade, Mamikonyants, etc.
To recall, within the framework of the program on improving water supply in Yerevan, it is planned to carry out works on re-equipment of the water supply network, including replacement of pipes and pumps, replacement of individual connections and installation of water meters. The total cost of the program is $ 21 million, of which $ 7 million will be provided by the EBRD. In addition, within the framework of the water supply investment program in Armenia, the total cost of which is 80 million euros, it is planned to reconstruct and modernize water supply, drainage systems and water treatment stations in 126 of the most needy communities in nine regions of Armenia. As part of this program, the EBRD will provide a loan of 30 million euros.
