ArmInfo. Gabriel Balayan was appointed as Deputy Minister of Defense of Armenia by order of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
Balayan (1977), served in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia in 1999-2000. He graduated from the ESU historical and law faculties. From 2001 to 2005 worked in the State Tax Service as a senior operative officer. From 2010 - 09.2011 was a member of the Board of Trustees of the program "Millennium Challenge" in Armenia. From 07.2005 - 09.2012 worked at the Yerevan State Linguistic University named after Bryusov as a pro-rector on legal, financial and administrative matters. From 2014 to 2015, is an OSCE instructor on the human rights program for military personnel. Since 2015 has been a professor at the American University. Since 2015, has been a member of the Council of Europe's European Commission against Racism and Intolerance. From 2015 to 2016 is an instructor in the human rights department of the OSCE Mission in Yerevan.
