ArmInfo. Secretary of the Armenian Security Council Armen Grigoryan positively assessed his visit to Astana. "I felt the warmth of the politicians," he told journalists, speaking of the results of the meeting of the secretaries of the Security Councils of the CSTO countries, which was held on May 24 in Astana.
Answering the question whether he did not feel a certain distance in communication, given that he once criticized the policies of the CSTO member states, Armen Grigoryan admitted that he had such fears. "But I was positive about my visit, and I even felt the warmth of these politicians, maybe because I was young, or for other reasons. I was a beginner, people did not know me. I had a meeting with Patrushev (secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, editor's notes.) We held a warm conversation lasting about 30 minutes, discussed the Armenian-Russian relations and the possibility of their development, "he said.
At the same time, according to him, he did not discuss with the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation the issue of the sale of weapons to Azerbaijan, since this was his first visit, and was mostly of an introductory nature. The subject, he said, will return in the course of the next meetings. Referring to the strengthening of the defense system in Armenia, Armen Grigoryan stated that it needs a number of reforms, and all corruption processes and scandals must be fully disclosed. <The defense system is not one component, it is multidimensional, beginning with local government, ending with the army of defense. Security is a huge system, which should be considered when developing a new concept of national security, "Grigoryan stressed.
