During the meeting in a narrow format, the Russian leader began the meeting with the greetings of the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan. "Once again, I congratulate you, Mr. Pashinyan, on your election to a high-ranking state post, and I note that today we have a very rich agenda, and we are going to sum up the functioning of the union and take a number of strategic decisions to further deepen integration." Russia, which presides in 2018 in the organs The Eurasian Economic Union, proposed an expanded program of joint work, among which I emphasize increasing efforts to create common markets for goods and services, further development of trade and investment ties, strengthening of production and technological cooperation, "Putin said.
At the same time, he stressed the need to continue the policy of convergence of monetary and financial and monetary policies of the countries, building new, more efficient transport and logistics chains. According to Putin, in many of these areas there are already serious achievements: domestic trade and the volume of supplies of goods and services to third countries are growing, the structure of exports is improving, the share of products with high added value is expanding, new joint ventures are being created and promising investment projects are being launched and how consequence, the gross domestic product of all member countries increases.

It would be useful to pay more attention to cooperation in the social and humanitarian sphere, education, as well as in the deepening of interregional and cross-border links. I would like to note that the Russian chairmanship is entirely aimed at strengthening our union, giving additional impetus to the rapprochement of the economies of the countries "the five and, most importantly, contribute to the comprehensive development of our states. In particular, I would like to single out one important issue, one that I think is important: the approval of the draft of the provision on the status of the observer state prepared by the Eurasian Commission As I understand, all the members of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council support this decision, and therefore, as agreed earlier, today we can grant the status of an observer state to the Republic of Moldova. I expect that, following the results of the discussion, this proposal will be approved by you, and the President of Moldova, Igor Dodon, will be able to participate as an observer in an enlarged session, "the Russian leader said.
