ArmInfo. The new Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan intends, first of all, to replace the Minister of Defense. He stated this on TASS on the sidelines of the republic's parliament at the end of voting.
Pashinyan announced serious changes in the Armenian government. "I can not name specific names, there are a lot of candidates for positions in the government," Pashinyan said, adding that the government will undergo serious changes, while saying that he intends to replace the country's defense minister. "The defense minister appoints the prime minister. "I see the need to change him." Pashinyan added that although he intends to create a government of national unity, this does not mean that everyone should think in the same way.
In addition, Pashinyan believes that the Republican Party (RPA) provided 10 votes for his candidacy because of the political situation in the country. "They took such a step because of the political situation in the country, I think that they do not have a general assessment of the situation," Pashinyan said.
On May 8, the elections of the Prime Minister took place in the Armenian parliament. 59 deputies voted for Pashinyan, against - 42.
